The FCL Desaru trip

Went on the FCL trip this year. Destination: Desaru. Actually looked forward to the short break. Pity Yani couldn't make it. This trip was enjoyable for the most part 'cos it wasn't rushed. True, there was the compulsory trip to an organic farm that delayed our arrival at the hotel (and thus the pool) until 1600hrs. But then... at least we got a chance to go to the pool and we also skipped the fireflies trip to hang back in the hotel.

I think what I like most of all is the night time. We didn't really do much except hang around the lobby drinking with the likes of Helmy and Jun, Ang and MM, Dawn and Wati and Cheryl... or at the karaoke bar which was airconditioned (it was hot outside).

What I didn't like was the security of the hotel. Or rather... the lack of it. Hanging out with our colleagues is fine if it's on our terms. What I didn't like was the fact that the hotel staff opened up the connecting door between our room (I shared with Cheryl) and Dawn and Wati's room... just because they asked the staff to. I mean... what pissed me off was that Dawn and Wati didn't even bother to ask us if it was ok to do so. They just assumed it'd be ok. Same to with the hotel staff. My question would be... what if we were from the same group but didn't know each other? What then? If our stuff got stolen, would they compensate? Huh?
